April 6 Meeting Assignment

Part 1 - Read Chapters 5-end of Background Knowledge: The Missing Piece of the Comprehension Puzzle by Douglas Fisher and Nancy Frey and be ready for a Literature Circle Discussion on one of the chapters.

Part 2 - Share one strategy from
Standards-based Activities And Assessments for the Differentiated Classroom by Carolyn Coil
with another teacher in another content area in your building. Prepare a one page handout that explains how the teacher used it in class on the front side and on the other side print a student sample with the student name removed. We will share these so everyone have 39 additional models to take home and share with faculty from their school. Several have asked if they can take photos to include on the handout. Yes, that woudl be terrif.ic to document what is happening in your schools as you share these strategies

If you have your model for the first part and were not able to bring it to the December 15 meeting we woudl be so pleasee to share your great work at the April 6 meeting.

Come for great Professional Development and the #1 PLC in the state!
